What to take on a cruise.
Some Cruise Lines have a laundry area, most do not. In case you need to wash something during the week, bring some wool-light or other easy self soak laundry soap. Coffee is not that great & they charge for Starbucks. Maybe bring a travel coffee mug and some International Cafe coffee mix and use the supplied hot water in the buffet area. Bring your own wine. Most Cruise ships allow one bottle per person. Holland American WINE POLICIES HAVE CHANGED Disney allows any SODAS AND WATER brought on in a small cooler. Don't put knives scissors or wine opener in your carry on as they will take it from you. Pack those items in checked baggage. Bring your own medicines, cold medicines, pain relievers, sleep aids and sea sickness medicine.
How to prepare your cabin: Cabins are small and bathrooms are smaller
Get a cheap shoe bag holder at wal-mart. You can put all your small item in to pack and then hang over bathroom door or closet. Here are some items you may want to put in there: water shoes, highlighters to highlight activities on your cruise activity sheet, scented room spray, small waterproof card and money purse (for your cruise card, credit cards, cash and phone), stain removers, sun tan lotion, band aids, Kleenex, deodorant, socket changer (two sockets to six), all camera and data cords, anti itch creme. You get the idea. Also consider bringing a hanging toiletry bag.
How to save money on Internet
Share a small data package on board. Research where on shore internet cafes are in each port BEFORE you start your trip.. Download your entire ebook before you leave. Bring a real book or use the ships library.
